NFL Fanbases Looking Forward to the 2021 Baseball Season

At this point in the NFL season, you can tell if your team has a chance at the playoffs. Or if you should just look forward to something else. This is for all those NFL franchises who struggled this year or have been struggling recently. On the other hand, there are several cities that have hope with their respected MLB club. Many die-hard sports fans just want to see a championship in their lifetime. Some get that chance and some never do. You don’t always get what you want in life, but I’m here to give hope to struggling football fans for the upcoming 2021 baseball season.

Cincinnati

Cincinnati is a city filled with passion and enthusiasm. The Bengals and Reds have been nothing short of horrific the last 8+ years. However, there is some hope for you guys. Joe Burrow is a proven beast and if he comes back healthy from his injury, he’ll be the franchise guy for years to come. The rest of the season will be ugly for the Bengals, but Cincy fans can look forward to the Reds.

The Reds were projected to be a great club in the 2020 baseball season. Even with making the playoffs, they still underwhelmed fans with their performance. Going just about .500 and not scoring a run in the playoffs was not ideal for them. However, the Reds have rebuilt and are looking to make a run in the coming years. They have a ton of pitching and a great lineup that didn’t exceed expectations in the shortened season. Many Reds fans are hopeful their club can live up to the hype in 2021 and make a run in the stacked National League.

New York

It doesn’t matter if you’re a Jets or Giants fan in this city. They are both bad. Yes, the Giants have a great shot at making the playoffs, but no respect will be given to them by making it at 6-10. The Giants have more upside than the Jets, but both teams are rebuilding. Football fans in New York know who the real team is, and that is the Yankees.

Even though I despise the Yankees, I give credit where credit is due. The storied franchise is among the best in the league with 27 championships. Even though they can buy whoever they want, they have still missed the World Series in recent baseball seasons. The Yankees are a stacked club and will most likely always be good. With all the money they have to spend and what seems like an endless salary cap, this team is primed to continue their winning tradition. New York sports fans can always look forward to Spring Training knowing their club will later be in contention for a championship.

Chicago

By now, you know how big of a Bears fan I am. 2018 was an amazing year and the “Double Doink” haunts me to this day. The Bears have been a laughingstock since then. The franchise refuses to draft a good quarterback or hire the right people. Ever since Lovie Smith was fired after going 10-6, the Bears have suffered. Hiring Marc Trestman, John Fox, and Matt Nagy, they just can’t find the right guy.

On the other hand, the Cubs are about to head into an unexpected rebuild. They must decide if they’re going to have room to pay all their top guys, and they have a ton of them. Theo Epstein leaving the franchise hurts. However, there is a team in Chicago that can give fans hope, and that’s the Chicago White Sox.

This team exceeded expectations in 2020 and are far beyond where experts thought they’d be. Their rebuild was long and painful but the Sox are here, and that lineup is one of the best in baseball. There is so much young talent on this team. If they get Michael Kopech back and add some more pitching, this team will compete for a championship. The hiring of Tony La Russa was suspect, and a lot of fans hated it. I’m not sure how I feel about it, but I know one thing, the Sox are nasty, young, and hungry to win.

Houston

The Texans are having a horrendous football season so far. They found their guy at quarterback with Watson, but desperately need a new coach next season. Making the playoffs last season and giving the Chiefs a run for their money is not the story of 2020.

However, the Houston Astros are legit. Even though they cheated, they still have marquee names that just can’t go unnoticed. The Astros got lucky in last season by not having fans in the stands. They had an underwhelming baseball season, but still made some noise in the playoffs. They are experienced in the playoffs and it showed in 2020. I hate the Astros, but Texans fans do have them to look forward to in the spring.

Atlanta

After going to the Super Bowl and blowing a massive lead against the Patriots, the Falcons have never recovered. It’s sad to see, but that’s the NFL. When you have a magical year you must capitalize, or else you may never be the same. The Falcons offense is high flying and powerful, but Matt Ryan’s career is ending, and the defense is bad. Like the Texans, they are also in need of a head coach. The Falcons somehow lost the first five games of the 2020 season even after being up late in those game. They couldn’t find a way to close out games and the front office had enough.

The team in Atlanta that everyone is talking about is the high-powered Atlanta Braves. Just one game away from beating the Dodgers and playing the Rays in the 2020 World Series, there’s so much to look forward to in that city. This baseball team is for real and they are so technically sound. They’re a complete team and play great defense. Fans in Atlanta are eager and excited to watch the Braves in next baseball season and so on.
